Non-veterinary cat behaviorist based on ethology and scientific animal studies
SERVICES
Each intervention begins with observation in order to understand the environment, interactions and signals of the cat, which allows one to act accurately and without forcing.

Each consultation takes place in your home and lasts about 2 hours. It is structured in two complementary parts.
The first part is dedicated to understanding the cat : their ethology, their basic needs, and their communication methods. This foundation is essential for addressing any situation with the right tools, whatever its nature.
A second part focuses on the reason for your consultation, whether it is a behavior that is disturbing to you, a cohabitation to prepare for, or a question of general well-being.
This flat rate covers the entire session as well as the follow-up included, one month later.
This format applies to all situations : behaviors that are disturbing to humans (scratching, elimination outside the litter box, biting, tensions between animals), the arrival of a baby, a new cat or a dog, a move or even a well-being assessment "Is my cat happy?"
~2 hours – 180 CHF
Your cat stays in its own environment, with its familiar surroundings and routines. This is the least stressful option for your cat and the most reassuring for you.
In addition to daily care, each visit includes careful observation of your cat's overall health and behavior. You will receive a visit report with photos and videos after each visit.
Each visit includes
• Observation of general condition and behavior
• Hunting games, attention and cuddles adapted
• Brushing according to coat type
• Refreshing the water and cleaning the bowls
• Cleaning the litter and observing the excrement
• Ventilate and secure closure of the dwelling
• Collecting mail and watering plants if requested
A contract is drawn up before the first service. It specifies information about your cat, the terms of the service and the procedures in case of a medical emergency, so that you can leave with peace of mind.

ABOUT
Miaouscope was founded by a non-veterinary, certified cat behaviorist based in Lausanne, whose practice is rooted in ethology and animal scientific studies.
Behind every behavior that bothers humans, there is a logic. A cat that scratches, avoids, meows at night or refuses the litter box is not being capricious, it is communicating.
Understanding what it expresses, within its environment, with its routines and reference points, is the starting point of every consultation.
The support offered is not intended to correct a cat. It aims to understand a situation. Identifying sources of stress, misreading or imbalances allows for respectful and lasting adjustments to the environment and interactions, without coercion or punishment. Every cat is different.

These behaviors, which are disruptive to humans, are often an expression of an unmet need, stress, or an imbalance in the environment. They deserve to be understood rather than punished. The goal is to identify the cause and adjust the environment accordingly.
It's even recommended ! In senior cats (from around 11 years old), certain behaviors that are disturbing to humans are often expressions of pain, disorientation, or physical discomfort. Adapting their environment and routines can significantly improve their comfort and independence.
The consultation takes place in your home, in the cat's usual environment, and lasts approximately two hours. It begins with a discussion of the cat's history and observed behaviors, followed by an analysis of the space and interactions. Personalized recommendations are offered at the end of the session, with a follow-up included one month later.
No. Punitive methods can increase stress and worsen the situation. The approach is based on observation and positive association: understanding the cause, adjusting the environment, and reinforcing appropriate behaviors, without coercion.
It depends on the situation and how long the behavior has been present. Some changes are visible quickly, others take more time. Consistency in applying the recommendations plays a crucial role.
No behavioral change can be guaranteed 100%. If initial adjustments do not produce the desired effect, they are reassessed and adapted. The approach is gradual and based on continuous observation, not on a one-time solution.
Cat sitting consultations and visits are offered in Lausanne only. Only the consultation for moving can be done remotely.
